Current Loves from Sephora that are Worth It

flat lay of beauty products from sephora

Just in case you have somehow missed it… the Sephora Savings Event is starting today! Yes, this is a big deal, . This is an amazing time to stock up on your go-to products, try something new or splurge on a gift. Yes, I have really been building my cart for weeks. And yes, you do need to work a little fast because popular items will sell out.

Important info you need to know:
• You’ll need to be a member of Sephora’s Beauty Insider Program to get the discount. It’s free and easy to sign up, so there’s really no excuse to not already be a member.
• The event varies a bit depending upon your membership level in the Beauty Insider Program. The discount and dates vary a bit.
    • Rouge 20% off: 4/10–4/20
    • VIB 15% off: 4/14–4/20
    • Insiders 10% off: 4/14–4/20
• You’ll use the code SPRINGSALE at checkout

Tips to get the most out of the event:
• Your discount is valid both in store and online, and can be used multiple times. I usually place a big order for my favorite products on day 1 (before things sell out) and then will make 1–2 more purchases throughout the event as I pick out new things to try, my daughter realizes she needs more concealer, etc.
• You can use the discount for orders that you Buy Online and Pick Up in Store or have same Same Day Delivery. This is great for getting products right away or that are out of stock online but available in store. There is free Same Day Delivery from 4/14–4/17 (ends at 1:00pm PT). Use the code FREETODAY at checkout
• The Sephora Collection is the hidden gem of the store, offering high quality products at a more affordable price point. And regardless of your membership level it is 30% off  for the entire event! (4/10–4/20)  Their plumping gloss has been a staple for me for a few years, but I’m excited to try out their new lip stain also.

In the past I’ve shared a lot of my favorites to stock up on at the Sephora events (check it out here and here), but recently I’ve been loving some new finds and I wanted to share them. If you’ve found a new favorite, let me know!

Glowy Makeup Prep

It’s true what they say… makeup prep is everything. And as I’ve gotten older, and my skin has transitioned from combination to dry, I’ve found that I really need to pay a lot more attention to what goes on my skin before makeup.

INNBEAUTY PROJECT Extreme Cream Eye and Extreme Cream: These are my go-to moisturizer and eye cream for the winter. They super hydrate my skin without leaving behind residue to interfere with makeup. The cream is a bit too much for me in heavier weather, so this is a bit much for the summer and I’m slowly transitioning to my summer serum.
Summer Fridays Jet Lag Deep Hydration Serum: A lightweight serum-lotion hybrid, it offers a lot of hydration also and won’t interfere with makeup. I use this in the summer, I’ll likely be pairing it with the Extreme Eye Cream still this summer.
Iconic London Underglow Blurring Primer: I think this primer has nearly reached cult status? It’s glowy and smoothing without looking like glitter all over the face.

Cheeks

I think everyone’s been having a blush moment, and I’m not any different. I’m especially obsessed with cream blushes recently, and some of my favorites are here. Both Patrick Ta and Merit have the glowy but long lasting cream formula down, though I admit I apply differently than Patrick. I prefer cream first and then powder over the top to set the cream.

My picks:

Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo: My go-to shade is She Goes to the Gym (shown here in the Mini), but I also love She’s Blushing (dusty rose) for everyday use. She’s Wanted (berry) also gives that perfect flushed “just back from a short jog” flush!

MERIT Flush Balm Cream Blush: Here in Beverly Hills (soft peach) is super pretty and great for everyday use.

Fave Lip Combo

This is my recent favorite lip combo! The Kulfi lip liner stains a bit, lasting somewhere in the 4–6 hour range for me. It’s a pretty and slightly shimmery nude lip that works for just about any occasion.

Kulfi Lassi Lips Staining Lip Liner in Flames (warm rose)

Go-To Setting Sprays

If you haven’t been using One/Size On ‘Til Dawn Setting Spray what have you even been doing? I spray this on my makeup after cream makeup but before powders. It has a super fine mist and really helps set everything for all day wear without touch ups!

The One/Size Powder Melt Glass Setting Spray is my second place pick, as it really does make the powder look melt away. I love it after all of my makeup is on, and also some afternoons I’ll use it if I’ve been hot and sweaty and need a little bit of a touch up. My only issue is that it is not available in travel sizes!

(Faking) Great Skin

I’ve been trying out a few new face products, and they really have been giving me a clearer looking complexion without looking heavy!

My Picks:
Laura Mercier Tinted Blur Balm Skin Tint (in 02): This is a balm to powder formulation, and offers light coverage. It’s easy to use with a brush just where you need it. I can’t tell it’s on my face, but I suddenly look better!
MERIT The Minimalist Perfecting Complexion Foundation and Concealer Stick (in Sandstone): Is it a foundation or a concealer? This is the ultimate multi-tasking face makeup. It’s easy to draw on where needed, and then blend out. I do need to work fast when blending as it will set fast.
Sarah Creal Face Flex Concealer in 3.0 and Face Flex Color Corrector Instant Under Eye Brightener (in Power Nap): I just started using these products a few weeks ago (apparently they’re great for those of us in the over 40 crowd) and so far my results have been good! I use light layers only in areas that I really need it. Zero caking.

Eye Favorites

I’m forever a sucker for new eye products, and these are the ones I’m reaching for currently.

My Picks:
Patrick Ta Major Dimension Essential Artistry Edit Eyeshadow Palette in Light: A well pigmented palette full of classic matte shadows. They work great together or combined with other palettes.
Lancôme Lash Idôle Curl Goddess Curling & Volumizing Mascara: I used this mascara recently and my teenage daughter said “Mom, did you do something different? It’s good.” I’m pretty sure it was this mascara! I think it adds a lot of volume and helps my lashes hold their curl much better. I’ve already bought a backup.
Armani Beauty Eye Tint: I go in and out of liquid shadow phases, but recently I’ve been reaching for them more! Armani makes really flattering ones that blend very easily. Pictured here are 18M Beige (cool beige matte), 70M Sakura (light pink matte) and 45S Desert (light gold shimmer).

Easy Air Dry

I’ve tried a lot of different air dry creams, and the Crown Affair The Smoothing Air Dry Cream is my current favorite. I wrap my hair in a towel (I love this one, also from Crown Affair) out of the shower, and let it soak up a lot of the water from my hair. When my hair feels about 50% dry, I’ll comb the cream through my hair. That’s it! The end result is hair that is less frizzy and still has a bit of my natural wave.
